Eddie Liptrot - District Superintendent
Eddie Liptrot joined International Schools Group (ISG) in fall 2013 as Principal of Dhahran British Grammar School and is now the District Superintendent. He has held substantial Headship in the UK and in the Middle East. In addition, Eddie was adviser and development partner to a range of international schools, as part of a commercial international schools group, prior to joining ISG. Within this role he led in the founding of new international schools; he acted as founding Principal of a school in Moscow. Eddie has worked extensively in building school leadership capacity; as an employee of The University of Manchester, he trained and assessed Headteachers and middle leaders in the UK, through partnership with the National College for School Leadership.
Eddie is an established member of a large education network in the UK and internationally. He is currently Chairman of the Executive Board of British Schools in the Middle East Headteachers’ Conference (BSME). He is a registered BSME Schools Inspector and was on the inaugural accrediting team. Until recently, he was Chairman of the Board of Governors for a state school in Cheshire, UK.
Tracy Kennedy - Director of Human Resources
Prior to joining the ISG in January 2016, Tracy was an operations management consultant who assisted small to medium size companies with improving their operational processes. Her passion for customer service paired with her knowledge as a certified Professional in Human Resources - International™ (PHRi) has allowed her the opportunity to proudly provide leadership and support to a talented, dedicated team of HR specialists who continually strive to deliver the best service, consultancy, and operational support to 800 ISG school district employees.
Dr. Eric Brown - Learning Office Director
Dr. Eric Brown has worked in international education for the past 10 years and is passionate about student learning and helping educators with their professional growth. As an educator at DEMS, he taught grade 7 math and science, guided the school in standards based learning, and coached teams through implementation of new standards in numerous content areas. Prior to international teaching, Eric taught social studies for seven years in US public schools. He holds a MS in Education Administration and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction. He and his wife Jamie (DHS teacher) have two sons, James (6) and Alex (4). Eric’s goals for 2018-19 are moving forward with the strategic goals that support ISG’s mission, namely to lead the learning and provide support to ISG schools in their work around the guiding principles, school improvement, curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning.
Jim Pritlove - Director of Safety & Security
Jim Pritlove joined International Schools Group in October 2017. Jim has been a security consultant for over 14 years working for commercial organizations in the oil, gas and mining sectors in the Middle East and Africa.
Jim made the transition into the education sector after being inspired by his experience working with international students and staff from the Aga Khan Global Encounters programme in East Africa. Jim has a BA (Hons) degree in Security and Risk Management from the Department of Criminology at the University of Leicester and is a member of the British Security Institute.
Waleed H. Al-Groon - Director of Government Relations
Mr. Waleed Al Groon holds an Office Management Diploma. He handled various senior positions for more than 22 years of local and international experience with multiple industries such as Technology, Trading, Construction, and Services. Managing key departments of HR, Personnel, Administration and Government Relation.
Mr Al Groon is an expert in Saudi Local Labor Laws.
Alexander van Iperen - Director of Operations and Facilities
Mr. Alexander van Iperen is from the Netherlands and studied (Information Technology) Engineering in Groningen, the Netherlands. Prior to joining ISG in August 2015, Mr. Van Iperen held the position of Director of Information Technology at the International School Manila, Philippines. Mr. van Iperen handles the aspects of Information Technology and Digital Learning.

- Create a robust support system to meet the technological needs for the school district.
- Working with the Superintendent Office on district wide IT improvements.
Dirk de Jager - Director of Finance
Mr. Dirk de Jager is from the Netherlands. His educational background includes both a Bachelor and Master's degrees in business administration.
Prior to joining ISG, Mr de Jager held the position of Director of Finance and Administration at the Council of International Schools. He has more than 30 years professional experience in various international corporate companies, serving in a leadership position during most of this time, including ten years as Finance Director of a leading international law firm.
Mr de Jager was an interest in leading change management and financial restructuring projects. He also served on the boards of several membership organisations with social interests.
Tracy Murphy - Director of Student Support Services
Tracy Murphy joined ISG in August 2016 and served her first two years as District Psychologist. Originally from Canada, Tracy grew up as a Third Culture Kid in Dubai, UAE. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Calgary, and graduate degree in Counseling Psychology at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR. Tracy is a Registered Psychologist in the Province of Alberta, and has spent her entire career within the international school system. Previously she worked at Emirates International School, Jakarta International School, and Shanghai American School.
Susan Markle - Director of Admissions
Susan comes to ISG after spending 20 years at TFS – Canada’s International School, a bilingual IB world school in Toronto. She began there as a guidance counsellor, then spent nine years as Executive Director of Enrollment Management, overseeing all admissions functions and providing thought leadership with respect to community engagement strategies. She led her team to record enrollment numbers, making TFS the largest independent school in Canada today. Prior to TFS, Susan worked as the Director of Girls’ Residence and ESL Coordinator at Sedbergh School in Quebec. Susan holds a master’s degree in psychology, a theatre arts diploma and, more recently, a creative writing certificate.
