This week, American School Dhahran marked a significant milestone as we hosted our 20th annual Speakathon. This event continues to be a cornerstone of our school community, offering students a platform to share their voices with confidence and passion. Over the years, the Speakathon has been a powerful showcase of courage, as students deliver speeches that inspire and motivate both their peers and the wider audience.
This year, ten exceptional high school students took the stage, delivering speeches filled with insight, emotion and thought-provoking messages. Their powerful words were met with enthusiastic cheers and support from their friends and classmates, creating an atmosphere of encouragement and celebration.
The event culminated in a spirited awards ceremony, where students were recognized for their outstanding performances in various categories. Awards were presented for Outstanding Performance, Most Striking Performance, Best Novice Speaker, Best Message and Best Entertainer. Additionally, we celebrated the achievements of our high school students who earned top honors, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards.
A special thank you goes to Ms. Shaila Koya, whose dedication to the Speakathon and to our students over the years has been invaluable. Her tireless commitment has helped make this event a cherished tradition at ASD.
We are incredibly proud of all the participants and the courage they demonstrated on stage. We look forward to seeing what next year’s Speakathon brings!
