Ensuring all students have equitable access to the curriculum and opportunities for growth remains at the heart of what we do at the International Schools Group. Our learning support process is designed in such a way that ensures and values involvement from teachers, parents and students.
At ISG, we use a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to implement research-based practices to ensure all students can achieve learning outcomes. MTSS is an integrated system of instruction, assessment and interventions designed to meet the needs of all students.
MTSS meets the needs of all students through a three-tiered system of universal, targeted and intensive support. The levels of support are known as “tiers,” which is interchangeable with the term “waves.”
Learning Support capacity may differ from school to school and student applications are dealt with on a case by case basis.
Students who are not yet proficient in their use of the English language might benefit from additional ELL support with specialist teachers. The aim of this programme is to ensure that all students can access the curriculum and express themselves orally and in writing with confidence.
Social-emotional support in ISG schools is the responsibility of all adults working with students. However, designated teams in each school are assigned to take the lead and coordinate differing levels of support for our students. Wellbeing is at the heart of what we do and all schools have designated school counsellors who work closely with students who need additional support in this particular area.
