ASD Badminton Teams Shine at SAIKAC Tournament

American School Dhahran students continued to demonstrate excellence in athletics as the U19 boys’ and girls’ badminton teams competed in the SAIKAC Badminton tournament held this weekend at ISG Dammam. Both teams delivered strong performances throughout the tournament, reflecting the dedication, discipline and teamwork encouraged through ASD’s athletics program.

ASD’s B teams competed confidently in the plate bracket, while the A teams advanced to the championship bracket and earned podium finishes. The boys’ A team secured a silver medal, and the girls’ A team captured gold and the championship trophy. Coaches praised the athletes for their effort, sportsmanship and consistency across matches.

The teams were supported by coaches Mr. Richard Smith, Ms. Chona Panuela, Ms. Jill Andrade and Ms. Kat Oefelein, whose guidance and commitment continue to strengthen ASD’s competitive programs. We are proud of our student-athletes’ hard work and achievements and look forward to seeing them represent ASD at the NESAC tournament this April. Go Scorpions!
