American School Dhahran hosted the PEP event, Empowering Parents: A Workshop on Resilient Parenting, on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, welcoming parents, faculty and staff from across International Schools Group campuses. The event highlighted ASD’s continued commitment to supporting student wellbeing through strong school family partnerships.
The session was facilitated by Dr. Jamie Martin, principal at ISG Jubail, who led an engaging and interactive workshop focused on building resilience in both students and parents. Participants explored what resilience means and why it is a vital skill for learners of all ages, while also examining practical strategies to strengthen problem-solving skills, emotional regulation and healthy coping mechanisms.
The workshop also addressed parental resilience, encouraging parents to reflect on their own capacity to navigate the challenges of parenting. In addition, attendees learned how families can partner with ISG schools to create supportive environments and engage in meaningful dialogue with other ISG parents.
Designed as an interactive session, the workshop provided opportunities for discussion, shared experiences and practical takeaways. The event reflected ASD’s dedication to empowering families and supporting a collaborative community that supports student growth and success across ISG.
