In July 2025, Best Buddies Advisors Ashlie Jensen and Kat Oefelein, along with an ASD student, proudly represented the International Schools Group (ISG) and Saudi Arabia at the Best Buddies Leadership Conference held at Indiana University. Themed “Wickedly Inclusive,” the conference brought together students and adults from across the United States and 17 countries to share ideas and deepen their commitment to inclusion, friendship and creating a global impact.
Best Buddies, which began at ISG five years ago, remains a cornerstone program that enriches students’ lives throughout the academic year. The organization’s mission, to create opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, resonates deeply within our community.
Through participation in programs like Best Buddies, ISG continues to encourage an inclusive environment where all students are valued and empowered. The conference experience provided our students and advisors with fresh inspiration and tools to expand their impact both locally and internationally.
