ASD Students Bring the Middle Ages to Life in Creative Medieval Presentations
SHARE
Our upper elementary students recently traveled back in time for a two day Medieval Presentations event. Over five weeks, they explored the Middle Ages through hands-on learning, culminating in an opportunity to showcase their knowledge and creativity to peers, our principal, the TLO team and their families.
During this immersive project, students engaged in a variety of creative activities. They crafted swords, hammers, crowns and shields, built models of medieval infrastructure and prepared foods and drinks inspired by meals from the period. Each project allowed students to apply research, problem-solving and artistic skills in meaningful ways. By combining history with hands-on projects, students were able to think critically about the time period and demonstrate their learning in interactive and imaginative ways.
We want to thank our teachers, who play a key role in guiding this learning experience. Through innovative teaching strategies, they encourage creativity and engagement. Their dedication creates opportunities for students to express their ideas in unique ways. By supporting students to take ownership of their learning, our teachers spark curiosity, build confidence and promote teamwork, helping make events like these memorable.
The Medieval Presentations event celebrated students’ hard work and highlighted ASD’s commitment to innovative teaching that makes learning both meaningful and fun. Experiences like this empower students to explore, create and share their learning in ways that prepare them for future success.
