ASD Students Lead Environmental Service Effort at Annual Beach Cleanup
SHARE
American School Dhahran students continue to demonstrate leadership, service and global citizenship through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. Recently, 28 student volunteers from the Community Action Council (CAC) and Effect Club gathered at the Khobar Corniche to take part in the school’s annual beach cleanup, an environmental service initiative that reflects ASD’s commitment to community engagement and sustainability.
Working collaboratively, students collected 25 bags, making a visible and lasting impact on the local shoreline. The effort highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship and the power of student-led action in addressing real-world challenges. ASD extends its appreciation to our teachers for their continued support and guidance: Ms. Manal Fawaz, Ms. Shouq Zanom, Ms. Rasha Al Nasr and Mr. Richard Smith.
This initiative is one of many programs at ASD that encourage students to extend learning beyond the classroom, apply their values in authentic contexts and contribute positively to their community. The dedication shown by CAC and Effect Club members underscores the school’s mission to develop responsible, compassionate and engaged global citizens.
