On Nov. 4, 2025, American School Dhahran’s Best Buddies high school students led a presentation during the elementary school assembly to promote compassion, inclusion and awareness among the school’s youngest learners.
The presentation focused on what it means to be welcoming, how to include others in activities and games and the importance of taking action when witnessing unkind behavior. High school students emphasized the responsibility each student holds in encouraging a caring and supportive school environment.
Following the presentation, the high school leaders held a Q&A session with elementary students, encouraging open dialogue and reflection. They also facilitated an interactive activity in which students turned to a classmate and shared a kind message, highlighting the power of everyday acts of compassion.
To conclude the event, Best Buddies students distributed cards for elementary students to fill out and deliver to peers they do not usually play with, helping spark new friendships and strengthen connections across the school community.
American School Dhahran is proud to see its high school students take initiative in modeling compassion and leadership. By mentoring younger students and helping them understand the impact of kindness, they continue to uphold the school’s mission and contribute to a more inclusive community.
