The U19 and U14 SAIKAC Table Tennis competition was held on Saturday, 29 Nov., providing a dynamic and competitive environment for all participating schools. British School Dhahran entered seven teams, three in the U19 category and four in the U14 category, totaling 28 players. BSD was the most represented school at the tournament, reflecting the strength of our table tennis programme and the commitment of our students.
From the very first matches, BSD players demonstrated outstanding effort, determination and sportsmanship. Each student showed composure under pressure, competing with focus and resilience against strong opposition from across the region. Their dedication throughout training clearly paid off, as they delivered confident and consistent performances throughout the event.
A notable achievement was recorded by the U14 A team, which secured a second-place finish. This result is the highest in this age category in the school’s history and represents a significant milestone for these athletes. Their teamwork, strategic play, and perseverance were evident in each match.
In the U19 category, the A team achieved fifth place after a series of closely contested games. The team demonstrated maturity and advanced technique, challenging their opponents and highlighting the potential within our senior players.
The U19 B and C teams, as well as the U14 B, C and D teams, achieved mid-table finishes. These results demonstrate the depth of talent within BSD’s table tennis squads and reflect the commitment of students who have worked to improve throughout the season. All teams contributed to BSD’s presence at the competition, reinforcing the school’s reputation in regional sport.
Beyond medals and rankings, the tournament offered valuable experience for our players. They gained confidence, developed tactical insights, and strengthened their ability to compete in high-pressure environments. For many younger players, it was also their first opportunity to represent BSD, a milestone they approached with pride.
BSD congratulates all students who participated and expresses gratitude to the coaching staff for their guidance and encouragement in supporting player development. The school community celebrates this achievement and anticipates building on this momentum in future competitions.
BSD recognizes every player who competed, represented the school with integrity, and demonstrated teamwork, perseverance and sportsmanship. This year’s SAIKAC Table Tennis results reflect both the skill and dedication of our students.
