BSD Hold Fundamental Athletics Interhouse Competition from FS1 to Year 3

On December 9, Ms Nourhan, alongside our Year 6 student leaders, led a Fundamental Athletics Interhouse Competition for FS1 to Year 3 students at British School Dhahran. Our students participated in an exhilarating event focused on key movement fundamentals such as agility, balance and coordination (ABC), which are the essential building blocks for all sports.

The competition was a wonderful showcase of developing athletic skills, with students rotating through core disciplines of running (demanding sharp turns and speed), throwing (requiring precise coordination and power) and jumping (testing explosive energy and controlled balance).

Every student demonstrated fantastic effort and outstanding house spirit, while the Year 6 leaders displayed excellent responsibility, encouragement and leadership throughout the event.

The competition highlighted that mastering fundamental movements is the true foundation of athletic success and physical confidence, reinforcing British School Dhahran’s commitment to developing well-rounded, confident and active learners.
