BSD Students Lead Custodial Staff Charity Drive and Appreciation Initiative

As part of BSD’s ongoing commitment to compassionate action, the annual Custodial Staff Charity Drive was successfully held during December, culminating in the presentation of thoughtfully prepared gift bags to our custodial team at the end of term.

This long-standing BSD tradition reflects our ISG values and provides students, staff and families with a meaningful opportunity to express gratitude through purposeful and compassionate action. Throughout the year, our custodial staff work tirelessly to ensure that the BSD campus remains safe, clean and welcoming for the entire school community. This initiative serves as a small yet heartfelt gesture to recognise their dedication and invaluable contribution.

Following consultation with members of the custodial team, a list of practical and seasonally appropriate items was carefully compiled to best support them during the winter months. Each year group was assigned a specific item to contribute, ensuring a balanced, thoughtful and well-organised collection. Donations included essential toiletries, warm clothing, food supplies and medicinal items.

The response from the BSD community was overwhelmingly generous. All donated items were carefully assembled into individual gift bags and presented to the custodial staff, who expressed their sincere appreciation for the kindness, generosity and consideration shown.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all students, families and staff who contributed to the success of this initiative. Special recognition is also due to the primary and secondary students who played a key role in organising and coordinating this meaningful event, demonstrating empathy, responsibility and a strong sense of community.
