DHAMUN gave ISG Jubail’s delegates another meaningful opportunity to step into global conversations and grow as confident, thoughtful leaders. Across committee sessions filled with debate, negotiation and collaboration, students practiced the kind of skills that matter far beyond the conference room: listening carefully, speaking with intention and learning how to lead through ideas.

This year’s conference also brought exciting news for ISG Jubail. One of our delegates earned Best Delegate in the Human Rights Council, a recognition that reflects exceptional preparation, diplomacy and leadership throughout the committee experience.

The student described DHAMUN as “honestly one of the best conferences I’ve done so far.” Assigned to represent China in the Human Rights Council on the topic of press freedom, the student stepped into a role that required both confidence and careful consideration.

“Representing China in the Human Rights Council on press freedom meant stepping into a very complex and controversial position,” the student shared. “It pushed me to think beyond surface arguments and really focus on legal mandates, jurisdiction and the balance between sovereignty and international accountability.”

Throughout the conference, the student emphasized the importance of growth, describing a shift from simply reacting in debate to engaging more strategically. “This time, I felt more intentional in how I spoke and structured my arguments,” he said. “Instead of just reacting, I tried to control the direction of the debate through amendments and open discussion.”

That sense of purpose reflects what makes DHAMUN such a valuable experience for students. Delegates learn how to navigate challenging topics respectfully, advocate for their positions and communicate clearly even when discussions become intense. As the student noted, “It was definitely intense at moments, but that’s also what made it a really rewarding experience.”

By the end of DHAMUN, the student felt proud of the progress he made, sharing, “Overall, I’m really grateful for the opportunity and proud of how much I’ve grown as a delegate.”

ISG Jubail is proud of all of our students who continue to represent their school with maturity, curiosity and courage. Congratulations again to our Human Rights Council Best Delegate for this outstanding achievement. Experiences like DHAMUN strengthen students’ voices and remind our community that leadership is built through preparation, reflection and the willingness to engage with the world thoughtfully.
