Innovation, Creativity and Impact: Our Week Without Walls Off-Curriculum at BSD
SHARE
This week, BSD senior students stepped beyond the traditional classroom to engage in an immersive Week Without Walls off-curriculum programme centred on sustainability, life skills and teamwork.
The experience began with a focus on ocean sustainability, as students partnered with KBR’s One Ocean initiative for a beach clean-up, collecting numerous bags of litter before enjoying a well-earned picnic and a friendly game of tug-of-war.Back on campus, they applied their learning by designing innovative engineering solutions to address plastic pollution.
Throughout the week, creativity flourished through masterclasses in weaving, decoupage, mosaic and tiling, while aspiring chefs refined their culinary expertise in MasterChef-style challenges and explored the principles of healthy food preparation. Students also completed practical First Aid training, equipping them with essential real-world skills.
We extend our sincere thanks to Fluor Labs for delivering a dynamic STEM workshop that encouraged students to think critically and problem-solve like engineers. The week concluded with a visit to the Al Khobar Escape Rooms, where collaboration and strategic thinking were put to the test.
Students spent this transformative experience not only with enhanced artistic and culinary skills, but also with a deeper understanding of environmental responsibility and the power of collaborative innovation.
