One of ISG’s strategic priorities is wellbeing and belonging, and this focus extends to both students and staff. Last week, ISG launched its new Wellbeing Committee for staff, which aims to create initiatives that nurture balance and connection in the workplace. As part of this effort, staff members from both ISG Dammam and ISG Jubail took part in a series of wellness activities during professional learning time.

Research shows that wellbeing practices prepare individuals for learning by supporting mental, emotional and physical health, which in turn enhances focus, motivation and resilience. With this in mind, ISG Dammam organized a variety of short sessions designed to help staff pause and recharge while strengthening relationships across the school community.

During their professional learning time, teachers and staff at ISG Dammam explored creative outlets, movement, connection and relaxation in workshops such as wooden mandala art, Zumba, mindfulness, scrapbooking, board games and more. Each activity encouraged reflection and connection in a setting that celebrated collaboration and personal growth.

They then participated in a professional learning workshop on effective feedback. Together they explored how thoughtful communication can build trust, listening to each other’s perspectives and experiences, fostering understanding, and supporting a stronger learning community.

The Staff Wellness Workshops reflected ISG’s commitment to caring for the people who make learning possible. When teachers and staff are supported in their own wellbeing, they return to the classroom renewed and ready to inspire students with focus and enthusiasm.
