ISG Jubail recently participated in the American Mathematics Competition, AMC 10B and AMC 12B, hosted by the University of Waterloo, organized by the Mathematical Association of America and led by Mrs. Preetha Nataraj. Middle and high school students gathered to tackle challenging problems that required critical thinking, creativity and mathematical reasoning.
Participants approached each question with focus and determination, exploring multiple strategies and applying skills they have developed throughout the school year. The competition provided a space for students to engage deeply with mathematics, test their abilities and reflect on how problem-solving can be both rigorous and rewarding.
Beyond the individual challenge, the AMC encouraged students to connect with peers who share their passion for mathematics. Conversations between rounds highlighted collaboration, mutual support and the shared excitement of working through complex problems together.
The event emphasized ISG Jubail’s dedication to cultivating a learning community where students can grow academically and personally. Students left with strengthened confidence in their mathematical abilities, inspiration to explore new concepts.
By participating in the AMC, ISG Jubail students experienced how problem-solving, persistence and creativity combine to create meaningful learning. The competition was a reminder that mathematics is not only about numbers but also about thinking critically and supporting one another in a community of learners.
