Last week marked an exciting and inspiring chapter at American School Dhahran, as we welcomed Olympic gold medalist and world record-breaking swimmer Adam Peaty to campus. Accompanied by his team from AP Race, Peaty engaged with students, staff and parents through a series of motivational sessions that emphasized the values of resilience, discipline and the pursuit of excellence.
Peaty’s visit began with a talk to our Parent-Teacher Group, followed by impactful sessions with both high school and middle school students. Throughout each conversation, he shared personal stories from his journey as an elite athlete, highlighting the importance of mindset, goal setting and mental strength not only in competitive swimming, but in all aspects of life.
Following the talks, AP Race hosted swimming tryouts on our campus, drawing student-athletes from across the International Schools Group (ISG). Participants competed for a spot in the AP Race Swim Team, a high-performance team developed to nurture and support promising young swimmers.
We are proud of all the students who demonstrated commitment and competitive spirit during the tryouts. Congratulations to those selected for the team, we look forward to seeing where this opportunity takes you.
The partnership between ISG and AP Race Swimming Academy’s ongoing commitment to providing students with unique experiences that inspire personal growth and excellence. We are grateful to Adam Peaty and the AP Race team for their time and we look forward to continued collaboration in the future.
