Pink Day at BSD: A Celebration of Compassion and Awareness
SHARE
On Thursday, 16th October, British School Dhahran primary and senior schools wore shades of pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The school community united to show solidarity, raise awareness and support cancer charities through a range of purposeful activities.
Students enthusiastically swapped their uniforms for something pink, taking part in our non-uniform day. From pink shirts and hair accessories to bright socks and creative outfits, everyone embraced the theme with spirit and style.
The Primary School Student Council organized a successful bake sale featuring homemade treats donated by students and families. Each purchase supported a meaningful cause.
The Senior School Compassion Committee led the day's activities, selling pink ribbons and hosting a bake sale. All proceeds supported cancer charities, reinforcing empathy and community spirit throughout the school.
We were also privileged to welcome Dr. Fakuma Benson and his colleague from Al Faraby Medical Centre, who delivered an engaging health promotion session on Breast Cancer and Testicular Health for our Year 9 students. These informative and empowering talks encouraged our students to take proactive steps towards safeguarding their health and wellbeing.
Pink Day at BSD highlighted the compassion and unity within our school community. We thank everyone who participated, donated, baked, or volunteered. Together, we raised awareness and celebrated the impact of collective action.
