The Poetry Cafe at ISG Jubail brought the elementary community together in a celebration of creativity, confidence and growth. After spending the past month immersed in poetry, students gathered to share original pieces they had written, creating a warm and welcoming space where every voice mattered. The event was a meaningful reminder that learning becomes even more powerful when it is shared.

Throughout the unit, students explored a wide range of poems, taking time to analyze structure, imagery, rhythm and literary techniques. They discussed how poets use words to express emotions, tell stories and help readers see the world from new perspectives. With each lesson, students built the skills and understanding needed to craft their own work, experimenting with language and discovering the joy of shaping ideas into verse.

When it came time to write their own poems, students were given the freedom to choose their topics. Some wrote about friendship, family and memories. Others explored nature, seasons, imagination and personal experiences. They also drew around and decorated their pages in their own unique ways, adding color, borders and illustrations that reflected the heart of their poems. This sense of choice allowed each student to connect deeply with their writing and express what mattered most to them both in words and in design.

The Poetry Cafe created a special opportunity for students to present their work to peers. Elementary students and staff gathered to listen attentively, offering encouragement after each reading. The atmosphere felt calm and supportive, as young poets shared something personal they had created.

Events like the Poetry Cafe strengthen the sense of community across ISG Jubail. They remind students that their ideas have value and that courage grows when we support one another. Through thoughtful listening, kind encouragement and the celebration of creativity, the elementary community came together to honor a month of learning and the power of student voice
