At ISG Dammam, kindness is more than a single day on the calendar. It is a value we aim to live by every day, woven into the foundation of our community. This year, we celebrated World Kindness Day on November 13 with a full week of activities that inspired students to express gratitude, empathy and respect in creative and meaningful ways. The celebration connected beautifully to our school’s core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, acceptance and commitment to act, reminding everyone that kindness strengthens every relationship and every classroom.

Throughout the week, middle school advisory sessions were filled with energy and reflection as students took part in quick kindness activities designed to build community and encourage action, thanks to the guidance of Mrs. Nadia Iqbal. In the Kindness Circle, students stood together and shared kind words about their peers or recounted thoughtful acts they had seen or done. The Thank You Note Station encouraged them to write heartfelt notes to teachers, classmates and staff, adding small moments of joy throughout the school.

The Kindness Bingo activity turned acts of care into a playful challenge, motivating students to take initiative and spread positivity across the campus. With every box checked off, they were reminded that even the smallest gesture can make a big difference. The Kindness Chain became a powerful symbol of unity as students added paper links describing acts of compassion they had experienced or witnessed. By the end of the week, the chain stretched across classrooms, representing the connections that kindness creates.

Advisory rooms and hallways transformed with color and inspiration as students worked together on Kindness Posters and the “Take What You Need” bulletin board. Each note, drawing and poster carried a message of encouragement for anyone who might need a smile. Many students also took time for Gratitude Journaling, reflecting on the people who had helped or supported them and sharing those thoughts with their peers when they felt comfortable.

Every activity reminded our students that kindness is not limited to grand gestures. It can be as simple as a smile, a helping hand or a few kind words spoken at the right time. The week served as a powerful reminder that kindness connects us, lifts us and builds a school environment rooted in care and respect.

ISG Dammam continues to encourage students to live out the values they celebrated during Kindness Week. By choosing kindness, our students strengthen their character, support one another, and make our community a place where everyone feels seen and valued.
