On Wednesday’s minimum day, the Year 9 IGCSE option selection event was held to support students and parents as they prepared for this important academic milestone. The event brought together Year 9 students, their parents and teaching staff for an informative and structured programme designed to guide decision-making for the year ahead.

The session began with an information briefing outlining the IGCSE curriculum, subject pathways and the factors students should consider when selecting their options. This was followed by individual parent–student–teacher conferences, providing personalised guidance and the opportunity to discuss strengths, interests and future aspirations in greater detail. Parents were encouraged to ask questions, ensuring they felt well informed and confident throughout the process.

In line with our commitment to accessibility and flexibility, the event was delivered through a hybrid model. Parents were able to choose between face-to-face meetings on campus or online conferences, allowing wider participation while maintaining the quality of individual support.

The Year 9 IGCSE option selection event played a vital role in helping students make informed and thoughtful choices, laying a strong foundation for their IGCSE studies and future academic pathways.
