Last week, British School Dhahran (BSD) welcomed families to a Parent Information Session introducing the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award programme and providing an overview of what students can expect when taking part.
Parents learned about the different sections of the Award, programme expectations and the personal benefits students can gain, including opportunities to develop independence, resilience, teamwork and leadership. The session also highlighted the Adventurous Journey component, with students from last year sharing their experiences, including their Practice Journey at Thumb Rock and Qualifying Journey in Malaysia, giving families an insight into the programme from a student perspective.
The evening concluded with an opportunity for parents to ask questions and gain a clearer understanding of the experiences and opportunities available to students participating in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award at BSD.
