ISG Dammam’s Compassion Club Encourages Kindness and Inclusion

Creating a welcoming school community begins with how people treat one another every day. At ISG Dammam, the Compassion Club led Unity Week, a three-day initiative that encouraged students to reflect on the importance of kindness, empathy, acceptance and inclusion while raising awareness about bullying.
During the advisory period, students took part in activities designed to help them consider how their words and actions affect others. High school students also created pumpkins using paper strips, each featuring a meaningful phrase promoting kindness, acceptance, respect and inclusion. The activity offered a creative way for students to share positive messages and contribute to the wider conversation about preventing bullying.
The initiative extended beyond the classroom through anti-bullying posters displayed around the school, encouraging students to speak up against bullying and support their peers. Wear Orange Day on October 13 brought further attention to the message, inviting the school community to stand together in support of a safer and more inclusive school environment.
Led by one of our students and club sponsor Ms. Analidel Souza, Unity Week emphasized the role every student plays in helping others feel accepted and supported. Recognizing when someone is being excluded, speaking up against unkind behavior and making an effort to include others can help build stronger connections throughout the school community.
The Compassion Club’s message captured the heart of the initiative: “One kind word. One inclusive action. One student who feels seen. Together, small acts of compassion can create a stronger and kinder school community.”
Through Unity Week, students were encouraged to carry this message into their everyday interactions, remembering that a more welcoming school community grows through the choices people make and the care they show one another.
