ISG Jubail Elementary Reflects on What It Means to Belong
SHARE
ISG Jubail’s elementary students came together for their first assembly of the school year, joining principals and teachers for a morning focused on belonging and care.
The assembly began with a welcome from principal Kristin Kappelman, who encouraged students to think about how their everyday choices can help make school a place where everyone feels respected, valued and included.
Students then moved through different areas of the school with their grade levels for conversations about caring for themselves, supporting others and taking responsibility for the spaces they share. Students explored how small actions can make a difference, such as keeping hallways welcoming, maintaining clean shared spaces and making sure everyone feels included on the playground.
The morning also gave students a chance to share their own thoughts about friendship and connection. One student captured the spirit of the gathering with a simple observation: “Did you know that the more friends you spend time with, the more fun you have?”
The first elementary assembly set a positive tone for the year ahead, giving students a shared understanding that building a caring school community is something everyone can be part of each day.
