Seven students from British School Dhahran, American School Dhahran and ISG Dammam participated in the KBR One Ocean Programme Closing Ceremony, held on 2 November at the Prince Sultan Science and Technology Centre (SciTech), where their contributions to last year's initiative were celebrated.
The event brought together students from across the Eastern Province to showcase their innovative engineering solutions to marine environmental challenges through an engaging gallery walk, highlighting their creativity, dedication and commitment to protecting our oceans.
The ceremony also welcomed community leaders and representatives from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the Ministry of Education, highlighting the importance of collaboration in addressing environmental challenges.
In recognition of its valued partnership with KBR and active involvement in the One Ocean Programme, International Schools Group (ISG) was honoured with a trophy. This recognition builds on last year's initiative, during which more than 100 ISG students participated in a beach clean-up at Half Moon Bay as part of Week Without Walls, demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship and marine conservation.
During the ceremony, participating students were also presented with awards of appreciation in recognition of their contributions to the programme at their respective schools. Looking ahead, ISG is delighted to continue its partnership with KBR as the One Ocean Programme resumes across our schools this year. We look forward to participating in next year's event, where our students will have the opportunity to showcase their projects in a dedicated exhibition booth, providing a platform to share their innovative ideas and solutions for a more sustainable marine environment.
