ISG Dammam Middle School’s JDAMMUN Club welcomed 61 students for a three-hour workshop led by expert mentors from Best Delegate. Guided by Ms. Shaista Akbar and Ms. Muna Brookshire, the workshop brought students together as they began preparing for their first JDAMMUN conference.

Throughout the workshop, students were introduced to the foundations of JDAMMUN and began developing the skills they will need as they prepare. They explored public speaking, procedure, research, resolution writing and opening speeches while learning about the five stages of a conference.

A strong focus was placed on learning through participation. Students had opportunities to practise speaking through interactive activities and public speaking games, giving them a chance to step outside their comfort zones and become more familiar with communicating in front of others.

For many students, the workshop marked an important first step toward taking part in JDAMMUN. As they continue preparing for the conference, the experience will support them in becoming more confident speakers, thoughtful researchers and active participants who can listen to different perspectives and work effectively with their peers.

The workshop also reflected the support of the wider ISG Dammam community as students prepare to take on a new academic challenge. We are grateful to Best Delegate for sharing their expertise and helping our students begin their JDAMMUN journey with confidence and enthusiasm.
