In celebration of World Environment Day, ISG Jubail recently welcomed representatives from ALTRAD for an engaging environmental learning experience that encouraged students to think deeply about sustainability and their role in caring for the world around them.

The visit created meaningful opportunities for students to connect classroom learning with real-world environmental initiatives while learning more about the actions being taken to build a more sustainable future.

During the session, ALTRAD introduced students to their environmental efforts and shared information about projects designed to support sustainability goals. Students listened attentively and quickly became active participants in the conversation. A question-and-answer session followed, giving students the opportunity to explore topics that mattered to them.

Questions ranged from the number of trees planted through environmental initiatives to long-term goals connected to sustainability efforts and future environmental plans. The discussion continued well beyond its scheduled time as students demonstrated genuine curiosity and a strong desire to learn more about protecting natural resources and supporting positive environmental change.

Students were also invited to participate in a slogan competition that encouraged them to reflect on their own responsibility toward the environment. Using a shared whiteboard, students wrote environmental pledges and messages filled with thoughtful ideas and optimism. Statements such as "Be the first eco-friendly school" and "Reduce plastic and increase care for our planet" reflected the awareness and commitment that students brought to the activity. Their words highlighted a growing understanding that meaningful change often begins with everyday choices and collective action.

Adding a hands-on element to the experience, ALTRAD demonstrated how students could plant seeds at home using simple materials and practical techniques. Students received a seed planting kit, encouraging them to continue their environmental learning beyond the school day and develop a personal connection to caring for living things.

As a gesture of support for sustainable habits, students also received reusable water bottles alongside their planting kits. These thoughtful gifts reinforced the message that small actions can contribute to a larger impact over time.

The visit reflected the strong environmental values that continue to grow across the ISG Jubail community, inspiring students to approach sustainability with curiosity, responsibility and hope for the future.
