The first week of school at ISG Jubail was filled with energy, warmth and new beginnings. From the moment families arrived on campus, the spirit of the community could be felt in every corner of the school.

Elementary students began their year with a warm welcome from Principal Dr. Jamie Martin and teachers, who guided them to their new homeroom classes. Middle and high school students were greeted by Assistant Principal Sanjeev Jangra, counselor, and their teachers, starting the day in advisory. Advisory provided a space for students to reconnect, settle into routines, and reflect on their goals for the year. Throughout the day, classrooms were alive with conversations as students shared stories from summer break and reconnected with friends, creating an atmosphere that felt both fresh and familiar.

During an all-school assembly, the Jaguar mascot made a lively appearance, greeting students and staff with high fives and big smiles. Principal Dr. Jamie Martin and Assistant Principal Sanjeev Jangra shared a message of encouragement before introducing new teachers, who shared fun facts about themselves. During the assembly, elementary students had the chance to ask high schoolers questions about life at ISG Jubail. One high schooler shared, “Live in the moment. Where you are now is enough, and remember to have fun.” The advice set a hopeful tone for the year ahead.

Lower elementary students also enjoyed a first day full of special moments. Their morning began with circle time, singing songs and playing a “Guess the Emoji” game to express how they felt on their first day. The classrooms were divided into stations with different activities, giving students the chance to play, create and learn while beginning to form new friendships. Some cooked in the play kitchen, others built towers or tried on costumes, while the art corner offered students the chance to create handprint keepsakes. A cheerful photo booth with props captured the day’s excitement. Later, the students gathered for a read-aloud of ‘First Day Jitters’ before ending the day by decorating crowns to celebrate their start to the school year.

The week closed with staff reflecting on the joy and excitement of welcoming students back. One teacher shared, “This was the most memorable first week of school.” The sense of togetherness, from students connecting with one another to teachers guiding them through the start of the year, set a strong foundation for the months ahead.

The ISG Jubail community is ready for a year of learning, growth and shared experiences. The first week was a celebration of both tradition and fresh beginnings, reminding everyone that school is not just a place to learn but a community to be a part of.
