British School Dhahran’s (BSD) athletics program has officially established provisional teams in three dynamic sports: volleyball, table tennis and cricket. This development signifies a significant advancement in broadening opportunities for student engagement in athletics and enhancing the overall sporting culture within the school.
The provisional teams are specifically designed to enable all students to participate, irrespective of their prior experience in these sports. From novices exploring new athletic endeavors to seasoned players aiming to refine their skills, these teams serve as an inclusive platform for development and participation.
Students will engage in regular training sessions that focus on enhancing their athletic competencies, learning tactical strategies and improving physical fitness. Additionally, participants will acquire essential lessons in teamwork, resilience and leadership while fostering friendships across different year groups.
Moreover, these provisional teams establish a foundation for BSD’s future participation in inter-school competitions and British School in the Middle East (BSME) Games, affording student athletes the opportunity to represent their school in formal competitive contexts.
At BSD, athletics transcends mere physical activity; it represents a pathway to fostering confidence, character and community. The introduction of provisional teams for volleyball, table tennis and cricket reaffirms BSD’s dedication to offering diverse opportunities for student learning, personal growth and the celebration of school spirit.
