In mid-September, the British School Dhahran (BSD) hosted curriculum information sessions for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 parents, offering a clear overview of the academic journey. These events demonstrated BSD’s commitment to keeping families informed, supported and engaged in their children’s education.
On Tuesday, 16 September, BSD introduced Key Stage 3 parents to the 2025–26 academic year. The session detailed the KS3 curriculum, including core and additional subjects such as Art, Computing, Drama and Foreign Languages. Parents also learned about Google Classroom as the main platform for resources and communication.
Teachers highlighted their focus on skill development, problem-solving, literacy and project-based learning. The session also provided practical advice on supporting healthy routines, reading at home and managing assessment stress. Wellbeing topics included goal setting, health, relationships and global citizenship. Parents received clear guidance on communication channels, key contacts and available resources.
On Monday, 15 September, BSD held a curriculum session for Key Stage 4 parents, outlining the IGCSE programme for Years 10 and 11. The session covered core subjects, non-examination courses and a range of optional subjects to suit individual interests and abilities. The importance of strong foundations in English and Mathematics for future pathways was emphasized. Wellbeing, balanced lifestyles and parental support were also discussed. Parents received assessment schedules, Parent Teacher Conference dates and information on enrichment opportunities such as Model United Nations, peer mentoring and leadership activities.
Both sessions reaffirmed BSD’s commitment to fostering a culture of respect, integrity, acceptance and responsibility. By partnering with families, the school aims to inspire innovation, compassion and academic excellence, supporting every student to reach their full potential.
