The spirit of friendship and inclusion was on full display in October as Best Buddies kicked off the year with a heartwarming reunion hosted by ACCEL. Members visited their buddies in classrooms, where new members introduced themselves and returning members reconnected after the summer break.
Best Buddies is an international organization dedicated to creating opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. American School Dhahran is proud to be part of the Best Buddies program for many years, supporting inclusion, empathy and lifelong friendships among students.
The event concluded with a cheerful celebration in the gym featuring music, dancing and treats provided by ACCEL, including custom bracelets and pencils. The joyful gathering was filled with smiles, laughter and the kind of connections that make the Best Buddies program such a meaningful part of our school community.
It was a wonderful start to the year, a reminder that kindness, inclusion and friendship remain at the heart of what makes ISG special.
