American School Dhahran held its first ASD Campus Council meeting of the school year on Nov. 5, bringing together a diverse group of community representatives, including parents, teachers and students, dedicated to strengthening the connection between home and school.
The School Campus Council serves as a vital platform where stakeholders share feedback, ideas and perspectives that help guide the school’s ongoing growth and improvement. Led by ASD Principal Mr. Brent Wingers, the meeting began with a warm welcome and introductions, including a special greeting to new members joining the council this year.
Mr. Wingers opened the session by reviewing highlights from last year’s meetings, which focused on Parent-Teacher Conference data and feedback, school communication methods, community events and opportunities, support for new ASD families and updates on the MSA accreditation process.
Following the recap, Mr. Wingers introduced the ISG Strategic Priorities: Wellbeing and Belonging, High Quality Learning and Professional Excellence. These priorities continue to guide ASD’s mission of encouraging a supportive environment where every student can thrive academically and personally.
The meeting also featured interactive workshops that encouraged members to share personal stories and experiences related to wellbeing and belonging within the ASD community. Members then formed small groups to discuss their insights and offer ideas for enhancing these key areas across the campus. The session concluded with a forward-looking discussion, as each participant shared their hopes and vision for where they would like to see ASD one year from now.
Meetings like the ASD Campus Council are an important part of the school’s commitment to open communication and collaboration. They provide meaningful opportunities for the community to share positive feedback, strengthen relationships and build trust between families and the school.
ASD looks forward to seeing the continued impact of the Campus Council’s work this year as it helps shape a learning environment where every member of the community feels valued, connected and inspired to contribute.
