ASD’s High School Leadership Students Mentor Early Learners Through Weekly Partnership

American School Dhahran’s high school Principles of Leadership class continued a meaningful partnership that brings learning to life in both practical and heartfelt ways. As part of the course, students meet weekly with KG1 and KG2 classes to mentor and guide our youngest learners through a variety of fun, interactive activities.
The goal of the program is simple yet powerful: give high school students the opportunity to practice authentic leadership while providing early learners with positive role models. The result has been an engaging, hands-on experience that benefits both age groups.
During these sessions, high school students support the younger children through games, crafts and classroom tasks, modeling patience, kindness and effective communication. In return, the younger students bring energy, curiosity and enthusiasm to each interaction, creating an environment where learning feels natural and joyful.
The partnership strengthens leadership skills, builds friendships across grade levels and encourages empathy through shared experiences. It has quickly become a highlight of the week for everyone involved.
Watching our older students step into leadership roles with such confidence and care has been deeply inspiring. Their ability to connect with younger learners and their willingness to lead by example reflects the values we strive to cultivate across our school community.
