American School Dhahran’s middle school social studies students hosted an engaging showcase for parents and fellow middle schoolers, highlighting a month long project that brought social studies to life.

For the past several weeks, students have been exploring government systems and economic decision making as they worked to design their own countries from the ground up. The culminating event challenged students to present their nations and persuade visitors to “move” there, using what they learned to demonstrate how leadership structures and financial choices shape a society.

During the showcase, students presented a wide range of government models and economic systems, each backed by thoughtful reasoning and real-world connections. Visitors had the opportunity to ask questions, compare countries and learn how civic structures and monetary policies influence daily life.

The event reflected both creativity and deep understanding, as students blended academic concepts with imaginative design. Their work illustrated how countries function and how informed decision making can shape a nation’s future.

The showcase was a proud moment for our school community and a testament to the hard work and creativity of our middle school students.. Their commitment to applying what they learned and bringing their ideas to life in imaginative ways was on full display.
