ISG Jubail middle school students recently participated in a virtual session with Arlian Ecker, an Australian youth environmentalist and filmmaker who has spent seven years raising awareness about plastic pollution and its impact on oceans. Known as Plastic Free Boy, Arlian shared his experiences, inspiring students to think critically about their own environmental choices and the role they can play in protecting marine life.
During the session, students learned about the science behind plastic pollution, the consequences for ocean ecosystems and practical steps they can take to reduce waste in their daily lives. Arlian’s stories highlighted the importance of individual action and collective responsibility, giving students a sense of empowerment and purpose.
The conversation encouraged reflection and commitment to environmental stewardship. Students left the session with renewed awareness of how small changes can make a meaningful difference and a deeper appreciation for the power of passionate advocacy.
ISG Jubail values opportunities for students to engage with global issues and inspiring leaders. The virtual talk with Arlian Ecker strengthened the school’s commitment to environmental education and encouraged students to contribute positively to their communities.
