STEM Workshop

On 24 November, KS2 students from the British School Dhahran participated in a hands-on workshop facilitated by British Aerospace (BAE) Systems.
The workshop allowed students to deepen their understanding of STEM concepts through practical application. During the session, students designed and tested paper aeroplanes and helicopters, exploring the principles of flight, aerodynamics, and engineering design. This interactive approach enabled them to apply classroom learning in a purposeful and enjoyable way, strengthening their curiosity and confidence in scientific inquiry.
The workshop also supported ISG’s commitment to expanding STEM opportunities across its schools. By offering real-world learning experiences, the session encouraged students to think critically, collaborate on problem-solving and understand the relevance of STEM disciplines in industry. Activities were designed to foster creativity, resilience and a willingness to experiment, which are central to high-quality STEM education.
British School Dhahran extends its sincere appreciation to BAE Systems, with particular thanks to Ben Curwen and Chris Worth for delivering informative and engaging sessions. We also thank Abdullah Al-Asmari for organising and coordinating. His support contributed greatly to the smooth operation and overall success of the workshop.
