During Week Without Walls (WOW Week), students participated in extended STEM learning experiences connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Their focus centered on Climate Action, Life Below Water and Life on Land as they explored how the natural world is impacted by human choices. Lessons were designed to help students understand the connection between people and the environment while encouraging responsibility and awareness.
Students learned how pollution affects ecosystems on land and in water. Through guided discussions and age appropriate videos focused on pollution and recycling, they explored how waste travels through environments and harms plants and animals. These lessons helped students recognize that environmental challenges affect daily life and require thoughtful solutions.
Hands-on recycling activities allowed students to apply their learning in practical ways. Students practiced sorting materials and discussed how reusing resources can reduce waste. They shared ideas about simple actions that help protect the Earth at school and at home. These experiences encouraged students to see themselves as active caretakers of the environment.
By the end of WOW Week, students demonstrated a deeper understanding of environmental responsibility and a growing sense of pride in their ability to make positive choices. The activities helped build awareness while inspiring lifelong habits that support a cleaner and healthier planet.
