ASD Cross Country Team Delivers Strong Performance at SAIKAC Meet

American School Dhahran students continued to demonstrate excellence beyond the classroom as the ASD cross country team delivered an outstanding performance at the SAIKAC meet on Saturday, Jan. 31. The competition was held at Udhailiyah on the sand golf course, where runners faced warm weather and challenging race conditions.

Despite the demanding environment, ASD athletes competed with determination and focus, resulting in numerous personal records across grade levels. The team earned first-place finishes in both the boys and girls ninth-grade races, second place in both the boys and girls sixth-grade races and a second-place finish in the high school boys 5K race.

One of the standout moments came from the sixth-grade boys team, with all seven ASD runners placing in the top 15, a remarkable display of teamwork and depth. Coaches praised the athletes for their resilience and commitment throughout the meet.

The school also extends sincere appreciation to ASD’s coaches Mr. Evan Godsiff, Ms. Antonette Briones and Ms. Chona Panuela and to the parents who traveled to Udhailiyah to support the team. Their presence and encouragement reflected the strong sense of community that continues to support ASD students as they pursue excellence in academics, athletics and character.
