Music and Art Mark a Milestone for Middle School Students at ISG Jubail
SHARE
Music and art came together at ISG Jubail as middle school students shared an evening that reflected their learning, growth and creativity. Families gathered to support students as they took part in their first middle school band concert alongside an art exhibition that captured months of exploration and effort. The event highlighted the many ways students express themselves while building confidence through performance and creation.
Under the guidance of Mrs. Kris Hammer, middle school band students performed their first concert at ISG Jubail. The demonstration performance represented their journey since the start of the school year, beginning with early sound production and moving toward ensemble playing. Students shared the steps involved in learning an instrument, culminating in a full group performance of Cadets on Parade. Their focus reflected steady progress and a growing sense of musical identity.
In the art exhibition, students shared work created throughout the first semester under the guidance of Mrs. Maria Khan. Their learning included stippling, shading techniques such as hatching and blending, and printmaking methods including relief and monotype. Students also explored sculpture through air dry clay, allowing their ideas to take shape in three dimensions. An artist research project invited students to study artists from different cultures and time periods, replicate a chosen artwork, and reinterpret it through their own understanding. Written reflections supported this process by helping students connect technique, research and personal expression.
Together, the band concert and art exhibition reflected the balance of discipline, creativity and reflection that defines learning at ISG Jubail. The evening was made even more meaningful through the presence and encouragement of families, whose support plays an essential role in students’ journeys.
ISG Jubail extends sincere thanks to all parents for taking part and for strengthening the partnership between school and home. Events like this remind us that student growth is a shared experience, shaped by collaboration, care and a community that believes in every learner.
