ASD U16 Girls Soccer Earns 2026 SAIKAC Championship Title

American School Dhahran’s U16 girls football team delivered an exceptional performance at the SAIKAC U16 girls football tournament, hosted at ASD on Jan. 29–30. As host school, ASD entered both an A Team and B Team into a competitive 13-team bracket, demonstrating the depth and strength of its athletic program.

Over two demanding days of competition, student-athletes faced a rigorous schedule that tested endurance, discipline and mental resilience. The B Team exhibited composure and leadership throughout the tournament, navigating high-pressure moments with the support of Assistant Coach Ms. Celia Selidio while Head Coach Ms. Stephenie Ngai guided the A Team in concurrent matches. Their advancement to the plate semifinal, decided in penalty shots, reflected the team’s determination and growth.

The A Team advanced through the championship bracket with focus and strategic discipline under Coach Ms. Ngai’s leadership. In a tightly contested gold medal final, the athletes remained composed, communicating effectively and supporting one another to secure a 1–0 victory and claim the 2026 SAIKAC Championship title.

Beyond the championship result, the tournament highlighted the culture of ASD Athletics, one rooted in teamwork, leadership development and character.
