Upper elementary students at American School Dhahran presented the Dance Party event  on Feb. 12, a performance featuring music and dance traditions from around the world under the direction of Mrs. Cole.

The production showcased more than a dozen well-known dances, including the limbo, dabke, macarena and YMCA, along with contemporary selections familiar to younger audiences. Students learned choreography, memorized lyrics and performed for the school community, demonstrating confidence and stage presence developed through weeks of preparation.

In addition to singing and dancing, students accompanied classmates on instruments, including djembes, xylophones, recorders and ukuleles. The ensemble performance required coordination, rhythm and teamwork as students balanced movement with live musical accompaniment.

Each segment also opened with short presentations in French guided by Mrs. Jreije, highlighting language development within the school’s elementary program and reinforcing connections between the arts and world language learning.

The performance reflects American School Dhahran’s commitment to a well-rounded education that integrates music, movement and language acquisition. Through collaborative productions such as Dance Party, students strengthen creativity and communication skills while sharing their achievements with the broader school community
