Students from American School Dhahran presented their work in the annual IB Visual Arts Exhibition, showcasing creativity, technical skill and sustained artistic inquiry as part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme requirements.
As a core IB assessment component, students curated and displayed a selection of their artwork for public viewing. Higher Level students exhibited a minimum of eight pieces, while Standard Level students presented at least four works. The exhibition provided an opportunity for students to receive feedback before final submission and to demonstrate the development of their artistic voice.
Displayed pieces reflected exploration across a range of media and techniques, illustrating students’ confidence in experimenting with materials, processes and conceptual themes. Throughout the course, students researched influences, refined techniques and evaluated their progress, culminating in a portfolio that represented both technical growth and personal expression.
Parents, teachers and peers attended the exhibition, offering encouragement and recognizing the dedication required to complete the IB Visual Arts program. The event highlighted the role of the arts within the school’s academic framework, where students combine creative thinking with critical analysis.
The exhibition highlights ASD’s commitment to comprehensive programs that support individual expression and preparing students to communicate ideas effectively through both visual and written forms while celebrating student achievement in the arts.
