Students from ISG Dammam proudly represented our school at the DHAMUN XX conference, hosted by American School of Dhahran on February 13–14. This prestigious event brought together more than 300 students from across the Eastern Province for two days of intensive debate, collaboration and global learning. Participants engaged in thoughtful discussions on a wide range of contemporary and historical conflicts, examining complex issues from multiple perspectives while deepening their understanding of international relations.
Delegates were assigned countries to represent and placed into committees where they researched policies, delivered formal speeches and negotiated with peers to draft resolutions. The experience challenged students to think critically, respond spontaneously and articulate ideas with clarity and confidence. Through respectful dialogue and careful negotiation, committees worked toward consensus and developed proposed solutions to the issues at hand.
Beyond the debates themselves, the conference provided an invaluable opportunity for students to strengthen essential life skills. They refined their public speaking abilities, practiced active listening, worked on problem-solving tactics and learned how diplomacy requires patience, empathy, courtesy and collaboration. Our students returned inspired, empowered, motivated and proud of the role they played on an international stage of ideas.
