During this year’s Week without Walls (WoW Week), 53 BSD students and staff travelled to Passo Tonale in the Italian Alps for the annual BSD ski trip, enjoying exceptional skiing conditions with fresh snowfall, clear blue skies and crisp alpine temperatures that provided an ideal setting for progression on the slopes.

Beginners quickly mastered the fundamentals, building confidence as they advanced onto long blue runs and refined their control and technique, while intermediate groups embraced the challenge of red pistes, developing their carving skills and strengthening their overall performance.

Advanced skiers explored the full extent of the resort, including the renowned black run descending from 3000 metres down the glacier to the valley, as well as tackling demanding off-piste terrain featuring natural bumps and jumps.

Evenings were equally memorable, with students experiencing warm Italian hospitality, traditional cuisine and a range of snow-based activities including sledging, snowman building and team games, making the trip a truly enriching blend of outdoor education, physical challenge and cultural experience.

We extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated teachers, Mr Haslam, Mr Hepworth, Mr Monaghan, Miss Rosie, Miss Priscila and Miss Gilbert, whose guidance, encouragement and careful organisation ensured a safe, successful and unforgettable experience for all involved.
