American School Dhahran marked an exciting milestone earlier this week as the new Multipurpose Space (MPS) opened its doors to students eager to experience the state-of-the-art facility.

Designed to support student wellness, movement and recreation, the Multipurpose Space provides a dynamic indoor environment where students of all ages can stay active, develop new skills and enjoy a variety of physical activities throughout the year.

This week, PE teachers and students made full use of the new facility. The indoor running track quickly became a favorite for students building endurance and enjoying exercise in a safe, climate-controlled setting. On the main court, the basketball area was transformed into badminton stations, giving students the opportunity to practice coordination, teamwork and agility.

Younger students also explored dedicated activity areas focused on developing motor skills through movement-based games and guided exercises. These spaces encourage confidence and physical development in a fun and engaging way.

The opening of the Multipurpose Space reflects ASD’s continued commitment to providing exceptional learning environments that support the whole child. By combining fitness, recreation and skill development under one roof, the facility creates new opportunities for students to stay active while having fun with their classmates.

As students continue to explore the space, the Multipurpose Space is already becoming a vibrant hub of energy, learning and school spirit.
