This week, Key Stage 2 students at British School Dhahran took part in a hands-on hydroponics harvest, bringing sustainability and healthy living to life through an engaging practical learning experience.

Students in Years 3 to 6 harvested fresh lettuce from the school’s hydroponic tower before using their produce to create delicious hummus wraps. The activity provided an opportunity for students to see the results of sustainable growing practices first-hand while developing their understanding of food production, environmental responsibility and healthy eating.

As part of the school’s ongoing Eco-Schools work, the hydroponics project demonstrates how innovative learning experiences can connect classroom knowledge with real-world sustainability, encouraging students to make informed choices and appreciate the journey from growing food to enjoying a healthy meal.
