2023 BSD Graduate Exam Results

We are extremely proud of the results achieved by our A level, AS level and IGCSE students in the 2023 examinations.

In A level, 27% of our Year 13 students earned all A's and A*, with two students earning 4 A*.

From all our graduates, 43% earned A*-A, and 66% earned A*-B.

In AS level, 25% of our Year 12 students earned 3 A’s or more.  49% earned A-B grades, and 68% earned A-C grades.

Our students maintained a high level of achievement despite grade boundaries having been changed and made lower.

Our IGCSE students also had outstanding results.

28% of our students gained all A* and A grades for 9 IGCSE subjects.  82% of students gained A* and A in their English subjects, and 87% gained A* and A in their Science subjects.  (A*-A is equivalent to Grades 9-7)

Our Year 11 students have now moved up to start their two-year journey in Sixth Form, also known as Year 12 and Year 13.

British School Dhahran follows the National Curriculum for England and delivers externally assessed IGCSE and Advanced level (A level) programmes. The IGCSE programme is followed in Key Stage 4 (KS4), also known as Year 10 and 11. The A level programme of study is followed in Key Stage 5 (KS5), and is known as Sixth Form or Year 12 and 13.  At the end of Year 12, students take the Advanced Subsidiary level (AS level) and in Year 13 they take the A level exam in their chosen subjects.

BSD is a registered examination centre for Pearson/Edexcel and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).

The examination board choice for every subject is decided by subject teachers and department heads, based on what best suits our students.
