American School Dhahran would like to congratulate our high school student for winning a special award in the The National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity (Ibdaa) organized by the Ministry of Education and the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, "Mawhiba".

Her translational medicine project, "Developing Intelligent Theranostics Multimodal Magnetic Spinel-Silica Nano-systems for Autonomous Targeted Cancer Therapeutics: A Synergistic AI-Driven Approach" was conducted under Dr. Rabindran Jermy at Imam Abdulrahman University, Eastern Province. Her project's novelty was awarded a special award by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in the event held in Riyadh, February 3, 2024.

She has been working on her research project since July 2023 and plans to continue her research.

“The excitement from the award is only further incentivizing me to continue working on it. I'm working on publishing a few papers from this study soon and applying for patent and intellectual property rights.

The end goal is to translate our research observations into tangible health solution applications in daily life. With such research available, attaining personalized, precision medicine and early detection is one step closer in cancer therapy. I can only hope to live to see the day my nanomedicine is put on shelves and administered to cancer patients in clinics,” she said.

After graduating from ASD, she plans to acquire both an MD and PhD through a postgraduate dual MD-PhD program. Her hope is to specialize in medical research and protect people and their families from painful prognosis.
