British School Dhahran was proud to host the Compassion Conference, bringing together students from across ISG to promote kindness, empathy, and meaningful action.
During the event, students collaborated with their schools’ compassion club leaders to develop thoughtful action plans that encourage empathy in daily school life. BSD’s own Compassion Clubs led by counselor Dolores and including groups such as the Perseverance Ambassadors, Empathy Seekers, and the Sustainability Hub presented a range of inspiring projects.
Students highlighted the importance of empathy through listening and understanding, and even conducted a survey asking, “Is empathy promoted at BSD?” An impressive 82.5% of respondents said yes, reflecting BSD’s strong commitment to a compassionate learning environment.
In addition, students presented a powerful project connecting perseverance to growth and success, reinforcing the value of resilience in achieving personal goals. Sustainability was also a key focus, with creative recycling initiatives on display students crafted flowers, lamps, and wearable accessories from plastic bottles, bags, and other recycled materials.
This event was a wonderful reflection of ISG’s mission to inspire innovation and compassionate action, and it demonstrated BSD’s dedication to embedding compassion into all aspects of student development.
