British School Dhahran proudly took part in the BSME Swimming Championships for the first time, held at the Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai from May 1st to 2nd. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to compete at an internationally recognised 50m pool.
A group of eight students represented BSD two from primary and six from senior school demonstrating both skill and sportsmanship throughout the competition. For many, it was their first experience racing in a long-course setting, and they embraced the challenge with determination and enthusiasm.
Standout performances included multiple podium finishes, personal best times, and valuable experience gained across all levels. Two swimmers from BSD earned top-three finishes in a range of events and ranked among the best in their respective age groups. In addition to medals and ribbons, several swimmers achieved new long-course personal bests, reflecting their hard work and preparation.
Overall, the event was a memorable and rewarding experience for BSD’s swim team, marking a strong debut in the BSME championships. The school looks forward to building on this success in future competitions.
